Research work of the Department of Germanic Languages

Research work is the most important element of the activities of the Department of Germanic languages. Interdepartmental scientific theme is "Linguistic, pedagogical and methodical bases of optimization of profession oriented teaching a foreign language of experts in the sphere of international relations". The implementation of the scientific theme is carried out step by step.

The first stage: "Development of set of exercises for each type of speech activity, taking into account the specifics of their professional activities and the objectives of foreign language training of specialists in the classical university" 2016.

The second stage: "Development of linguistic, pedagogical and methodological aspects of optimization of profession oriented teaching a foreign language of specialists in the sphere of international relations" 2017.

The third stage:" Development of sets of exercises, taking into account the specifics of professional activities of specialists in the sphere of international relations" 2018.

The fourth stage: "Formation of didactic-methodical system of profession oriented teaching of specialists in the sphere of international relations" 2019.

The fifth stage: "Modeling of educational and methodical complexes, including: 1) Model and educational programs; 2) educational and methodical manuals; 3) didactic means of profession oriented teaching a foreign language of specialists in the sphere of international relations" 2020.

The relevance of the research work carried out by the department is confirmed by modern trends in the development of the system of linguistic knowledge. The specifics of the profession oriented teaching a foreign language in high school is little known. The relevance of the topic is also conditioned by the need to develop the methodic and didactic base of the Department of Germanic languages of the faculty of international relations of BSU through theoretical and methodological development, creation and improvement of educational-methodical complexes for teaching a foreign language of specialists in the sphere of international relations: "1-23 01 01 International relations", "1-24 01 01 International law", "1- 25 01 03 World economy", "1-96 01 01 Customs affairs", "1- 26 02 02 Management in international tourism", as the teaching foreign languages is an integral part of the professional training specialists of the above-mentioned profiles. The need for the creation of educational and methodological complexes for teaching a foreign language is explained by the new objectives and tasks of improving the training of specialists in higher education and modern Educational standards introduced in the Republic of Belarus at the present stage of reforming the system of higher education in the country.

All teachers of the department are engaged in scientific work. Research and scientific and methodical work of the staff of the department is reflected in the individual plans, the work plan of the department. The results of the researches are used in the educational process at all stages of teaching a foreign language.

Research work of students at the Department of German languages is the most important component in the process of training specialists with higher education. The main directions of student research work include: preparation of reports for the messages of research results at scientific student conferences, preparation and participation in competitions of student scientific works.

Thus, in 2012, students of the department took part in the IVth International competition of student works in foreign languages "International cooperation – the key of peaceful coexistence of states" on the basis of the educational institution of the Federation of trade unions of Belarus "International University MITSO" and became winners. Diploma of 1 degree and diploma for the best project in German is received by 4th year student of the Department "International law" Anastasia Batechko (supervisor — assistant professor E. A. In 2013 in EU "International University "MITSO" was held the Vth International competition of student design works in foreign languages "Cultural heritage and tourism: prospects, trends, solutions", whose objective was to develop and improve students' skills in public speaking, disclosure of their personal and creative potential. F. Arsentieva).
