C.Everyday expressions. In a game with a ball practice asking questions (student A) and answering them (student B). Then exchange the roles.

Agreement: - I quite agree with you. – I’m of the same opinion. – That’s right! – Just it. – Exactly so. – Looks like that. – With pleasure. – I think (suppose, believe, expect) so… – In a way yes. – I am afraid so. – Sure. – That beats me. – That’ll do. – Undoubtedly. – I’m all for it. – I hope so.

Disagreement: – I disagree with you (on that point). – I’m against it. – I object to it. – I protest. – You are mistaken. – There is something in what you say, but… – No good. – That won’t work! – What’s the use of…? – It’s ridiculous! – By no means! – It’s unjust! – Nonsense! – Under no circumstances! – It’s unheard of!

Doubt, hesitation: – Really? – Indeed? – Is it true? – Are you sure? – I don’t believe it. – I doubt it. – I wonder… – I shouldn’t say so. – I can hardly believe my ears. – Too good to be true. – May be. – I dare say it is. – It seems so. – You know better. – To some extent (degree). – I’ve no idea. – Go no with you!

VII. COMMUNICATION SKILLS

A.HOROSCOPES. Look at the following horoscopes. Compare given information with the real people you know. They can be relatives, friends, and famous people. Agree, disagree, doubt or surprise at what the horoscopes say.

Aries Personality:

As the first sign of the zodiac, the presence of an Aries almost always indicates the beginning of something energetic and boisterous. Not much holds this sign back. They're eager, dynamic, quick, and competitive. When it comes to getting the ball rolling, an Aries is the best. Pioneering everything from work-related projects to parties with friends, these folks go for the gusto.

Leo Personality:

When the mighty Lion enters center stage, everyone notices. This dramatic, creative, and outgoing sign has the keyword magnetism for good reason. Fiery and self-assured, a Leo's charm can be almost impossible to resist. Whether it's time spent with family and friends or efforts on the job scene, a Leo is going to bring a lot to the table.

Virgo Personality:

With an acute attention to detail, the Virgo is the sign in the zodiac most dedicated to serving. Their deep sense of the humane leads them to caregiving like no other, while their methodical approach to life ensures that nothing is missed. 2. I have to tell her what to do every minute of the working day. She wouldn't even open a window without someone's permission.

5. I don't think he's done any work since he's been here.

6. She finds it difficult to meet people and talk to strangers.

7. He could work in any of the departments, and it doesn't matter to him if he's on his own or part of a team.                                                 

8. One of the great things about her is that she is so aware of what other people think or feel. 

9. Bob, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. He is always making people angry or upset because he just doesn't consider their feelings.

10. The other thing about Bob is that he really wants to get the supervisor's job and then become boss for the whole department.

Organise these words into pairs of opposites and put them into the columns below.

C. Work in pairs. Consider all the pros and cons of living in Australia according to text. Agree and disagree with your partner.

D. In your group, make the presentation about “Places of interest” in Australia. Possible titles are The Twelve Apostles, Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex, Round House, London Arch, Port Arthur, Burning Mountain, Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney.
