Определение не имеет постоянного места в предложении и может стоять при любом члене предложения, выраженном существительным. Беспредложное косвенное дополнение всегда стоит между сказуемым и прямым дополнением: We sent the buyers the documents. Предложное косвенное дополнение стоит после прямого: The sellers received the documents from the buyers. Обстоятельство места стоит после обстоятельства образа действия: I met him by chance at the theatre. Обстоятельство времени стоит после обстоятельства места, т.е. в конце предложения. Оно, однако, может стоять и в начале предложения: I met him in the park on Sunday. = On Sunday I met him in the park.

ГЛАГОЛ
В английском языке большинство глаголов являются смысловыми, т.е. несущими смысловую нагрузку. Глаголы to be, to do, to have также могут выполнять функцию вспомогательных, или глаголов-связок, участвуя в образовании различных форм. Особую группу составляют так называемые модальные глаголы. Все глаголы, кроме модальных, имеют 4 основные формы.
Основные формы глагола
Глагол TO BE В отличие от других глаголов не требует вспомогательного глагола при образовании отрицательных и вопросительных предложений, сам выступая в этой роли. Как смысловой глагол имеет значение быть, находиться. Как глагол-связка в составном именном сказуемом имеет значение быть, являться. На русский язык часто не переводится.
