THE FUTURE PROGRESSIVE TENSE

Future Progressive выражает незаконченное длительное действие, которое будет происходить в определенный момент речи в будущем.

Указатели времени Future Progressive: at 8 o’clock tomorrow, from 6 to 7 o’clock tomorrow, at this time next week, all day tomorrow, the whole evening tomorrow, in an hour, when, as, while.

Future Progressive образуется при помощи вспомогательного глагола to be в будущем времени (shall be, will be) и формы причастия настоящего времени смыслового глагола (V_ing): I shall/will be reading. She will be having dinner. You will be watching a film.

Спряжение глагола в будущем продолженном времени

 Отрицательная форма образуется при помощи частицы not, которая ставится после вспомогательного глагола shall или will: David will not be listening to music at 5 o’clock tomorrow. We shall/will not be telling them the stories at this time.

Сокращенные формы: won’t be V_ing и shan’t be V_ing.

В вопросительной форме вспомогательный глагол shall или will ставится перед подлежащим, а beV_ing употребляется после него.

 Общие вопросы: Will you be watching a new video film at 6 tomorrow? – Yes, I will. / No, I won’t.

Альтернативные вопросы: Will she be having lunch with Helen or Mary?

Специальные вопросы: What will they be doing at this time next week? Who will you be meeting tomorrow? How long will she be living in the hotel? Who will be washing these plates?

Разделительные вопросы: At this time tomorrow we will be coming to our house, won’t we? They won’t be enjoying themselves at the seaside, will they?

Модели употребления

Future Progressive употребляется:

1. Для выражения действия, которое будет происходить в определенный момент в будущем: I will be doing my homework at 8.

2. Для выражения действия, которое будет происходить в определенный период в будущем: They will be playing games all day long tomorrow.

3. Для выражения действий в будущем, которые запланированы, предрешены или ожидаются как естественное дальнейшее развитие событий, имеющих место в настоящем: I shall be working as a sales manager most of the time. I’ll be seeing Mary at the office tomorrow. They will be coming to see us tonight. В этом значении Future Progressive эквивалентно соответствующему значению форм Present Progressive: They are coming to see us tonight.

4. Для выражения вежливой просьбы выполнить какое-либо действие для говорящего: Will you be going to the supermarket tomorrow? Can you buy me some tea?

5. В главном предложении в рамках сложноподчиненного предложения времени и условия: He will be still doing his homework when you come home. While I am typing the article, you will be looking through the documents.
